A new version of the communications workhorse Skype has been released for iPhone and iPod Touch users running OS 2.2 or 3.0.
Useful new features in this release include the ability to access Skype voicemail from your iPhone as well as to send low cost SMS messages via your Skype client.
Sign into Skype via 3G, WiFi, GPRS or Edge and see who is online - then instant message them whenever, and wherever the mood strikes.

Only two weeks after launching the 3.0 software update for iPhone and iPod Touch, Apple is now working hard to deliver an update to the iPhone OS. The iPhone SDK 3.1 beta was pushed out to developers last night, and the recipients report the software already has a few new features and refinements.
It actually seems like the developers at Beejive read my review and took note and changed one of the major 'thing' I did not like about the application. Pretty sure everyone agreed with me on it as well. The problem was when you were typing a message, you were typing inside a bubble which made viewing/reading the IM very difficult when they were being sent to you.

The new Nokia Messaging offered by Nokia Beta Labs is compatible with Yahoo Messenger and Ovi -- more services are expected to be compatible in the future.
This release is available today for the E75 - the first device bundled with a lifetime subscription to the Nokia Messaging service. Nokia will be adding support for more devices and communities soon!
Boygenius just reported that Palm has released webOS version 1.0.4 as an OTA update for the Palm Pre. It's rumored to address some corporate Exchange issues, the “homebrew app” loophole and other bugs.
