Good for beginners and experts alike

Ive owned this detector for about a year and half now and have been very happy with it.

Id say the best thing about this metal detector is the fact that it is easy to use straight out of the box for a beginner, but also has many advanced features that would make it useful for a pro who wants to do some serious detecting. For those more advanced features, there is a bit of a learning curve but so far Ive been quite successful at using just the standard settings to find objects. The instruction manual that you can get online in PDF format is quite extensive and would be your go-to guide to master the machine. I still read it all the way through before I even turned the unit on. Its expensive but if you know where to look and have a little luck Im sure you can earn ten times over what this costs.

Great Machine, Very Light.

First time user of NOX. This is my first time detecting ever, went with the friend who had Garret 250 with huge coil, Nox gave signals where Garret could not find anything. For the first time user, I found some coins and few junk items. This machine will find anything if it is in the soil. Highly recommend it. Can't wait to go out again.

Worth every penny

I purchased the Equinox based on recommendations from a 30-year detecting veteran. Been detecting on the beach and I've spent much more on a detector that wasn't any better than this. There are cheaper and more expensive metal detectors, but IMHO, this is the best bang for the buck. Recently it started "rapid pinging" and support answered within minutes and tried a few things with me. After I tried their ideas, I called back, and they again responded immediately. I had to ship the coil and main module to them for testing and repair. Usually, I'd be mad about it breaking two months and maybe 20 hours in, but good support means a lot.

Best all around metal detector, hands down

For the longest time I hunted with a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro, which was great. I'm not a detector snob, so I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles. Before the Bounty Hunter I was using a Harbor freight detector. Only reason I upgrade to this one was because I do a lot of hunting on the beach in salt water. Single frequency Bounty Hunters struggle a lot there.

I've also owned another Minelab detector.... the GoFind 66. That thing is a toy. I didn't like it at all. so I was worried that Minelab was all hype. I'd heard they were among the best, but I was not impressed with that GoFind. This equinox, however? Simply the best. I've gone out on hunts with guys rocking Garret AT Pro's and picked up targets theirs completely missed.

Not too crazy about the rechargable battery, but that's just me. I don't like having to remember to charge the device before a hunt. Much more convenient to just throw in some batteries and go. But oh well.

I can't recommend this detector enough. If I had to pick a down side it's that it's pretty susceptible to electromagnetic interference. It chatters a lot when you are hunting near power lines. Not sure that's entirely a negative, though. Just means the device is extra sensitive.... and that's a good thing..

THE Minelab Equinox 600 down side

Old guy here
The only downside for me about this amazing detector is that I didn't have it 60 years ago (back then hardly saw any other detectorists) ......Ok so this review isn't a review per say but a praise of the FANTASTIC AI algorithm of its multifrequency and incredible intuitive pod as well as the detector design. So, here's my opinion for what's it worth, all other detectors are behind the eight ball to the Minelab's tech and trying to catch up. TRUE MULTIFREQUENCY, nothing out there even compares to it! These Minelab series are stunning in their power to deep seek (a quarter at 11to 12" down is pretty skull pounding amazing) and find the good stuff.....I've only had this extremely light weight detector less than a month, don't really know how to program it very well but Minelab quick start makes that NOBRAINER easy in minutes. Lots of coins and lots of rings found on pounded beaches. Every signal is an adventure unto itself. Definitely it will grip you to see what the signal frequency number is....Yes there expensive but if you can pull it off, don't short yourself with second best, get the best out there and have adventures and fun. Don't worry about paying for it will pay for itself, as Amazon store card has some great ways to get it and try it with no out of pocket. Oh and the best settings for this detector is to turn it on.
