Way Better than my Garrett

I love my Garrett 200 as a beginner. It was awesome to really learn just the basics. After a couple of years and now living in Virginia i needed something a little better and the Vanquish 440 did the trick!

Not only and i able to discriminate items i want to dig better, but I found things in places I know for a fact I scanned with my Garrett. Again love my Garrett and will keep it, but if youre looking for a step up without spending a lot of money, the Vanquish 440 is the way to go.

Only thing it doesnt have that the 540 does is a backlight and Bluetooth.

Great beginner metal detector

This is the kid brother of the Minelab Equinox. Targets ring up the same as the Equinox, it just does not have the bells and whistles. In my opinion, this is the best beginner detector on the market, especially if one will want to upgrade to the Equinox later on.

Seems to be an excellent machine that is a great step up from basic detectors.

I like this machine a lot. Im not new to metal detecting but I am new to higher quality machines that are a major upgrade from basic bottom dollar entry level machines.
Im still learning this machine and its capabilities but already Ive found lots of stuff in my yard that my older basic entry level machine wouldnt even signal the presence of.

Its a great intermediate level machine and it does take a learning curve to get to know its capabilities.

Great Detector!!!!

I have both Minelab Equinox, as well as the 440 Vanquish. Love both, but may enjoy hunting with the Vanquish more than the higher priced Equinox. Easy to use, accurate I.D's, and smaller coil make it ideal for hunting in the woods and fields that have saplings, cotton stalks, or other objects obstructing your swing motion.

Glad I got it

I dont know if i would say its for beginners, but it works a lot better than my other detector. I could swing my old one and hardly hear it react. This one, i can swing it once and get 5-10 targets my other one wouldnt pick up at all. My only problem, which its most likely user error, but I use the pin point function and dig about 5-6 inches around it, and it always seems to be in the wall of the plug. But other than that, it is a very good detector. I suggest use the X method, its more reliable
